First behind the scenes video for AMC’s The Walking Dead teases a deeper, darker season

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard anything from AMC’s The Walking Dead, which isn’t surprising since season 2 closed its doors a few months ago.  However, season 3 is currently filming and AMC has treated us with this behind-the-scenes video featuring the cast and crew talking about what lies ahead for the famed zombie series based on the comic by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

Check it out:

Season 3 of The Walking Dead has the potential to be the most “game changing” of them all, as it certainly was in the comics.  However, as the series has taught us thus far, there is no such thing as “safe” continuity, as many changes have already been made that are inconsistent with the books.

The mention of new characters in this video is also of note.  Certainly we expect to see new players, but there are a few fan favorites aside from the already cast Danai Gurira as Michonne and David Morrissey as The Governor, who many hope to see make their first appearance in the third season.  Chief among them is Tyrese, a big player in the story arc from the comics.

There’s a special place in Hell for those that would spoil the (possible) events for season 3.  Although I’m sure some changes will be made, both followers and non-followers of the comic would do well to keep their lips zipped for what’s coming as it’s one of the biggest and most epic stories from the series.

Either way, star Andrew Lincoln’s summation of a “harder, darker, faster, and deeper” season fall right in line with my expectations and I couldn’t be more stoked.

The Walking Dead season 3 starts this Fall on AMC.
