As promised last week, a special WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES announcement was made during Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead, and although we didn't get a teaser like some speculated, a sweet contest was revealed related to the upcoming film in a promo video presented by director Matt Reeves and Andy Serkis.
They're offering one fan the chance to play a motion captured ape in "Caesar's greatest battle yet." All you have to do is submit a video of your most life like-ape imitation at ApesContest.com. Like I said, pretty cool stuff. And while there's only a few quick shots, the first WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES behind-the-scenes footage that was also released as part of the contest announcement looks promising.
WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES also stars Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer and Gabriel Chavarria, and is due in theaters on July 14, 2017.
