Ender's Game

Yesterday there was a first look at Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham from the film ENDER'S GAME and now the first footage from the film has been revealed. Unfortunately it's another one of those teasers for the trailer that consists of an introduction by the film's actors/director for forty seconds followed by a measly ten seconds of footage from the film. Stars Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield bring us this first look at the film as well as an announcement: the first trailer for ENDER'S GAME will be released worldwide on Tuesday, May 7th. The trailer will debut during a Google+ hangout and feature a live conversation with Butterfield, director Gavin Hood and Producer Bob Orci.

One question though: why does it seem like Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield took horse tranquilizers before they filmed the introduction?

Synopsis:

After an alien race called the Formics attacks Earth, the International Fleet prepare for the next invasion by training the best young children to find the future leader to lead the International Military. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is pulled out of his school to join International Fleet and attend the legendary Battle School. After easily mastering the increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect among his peers, Ender is soon ordained by Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) himself to lead the military into a war that will determine the future of Earth and the human race.

Also starring Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, and Viola Davis, ENDER'S GAME is in theaters on November 1st, 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Although author Orson Scott Card wrote the screenplay for ENDER'S GAME he use to believe that his book was "unfilmable" due to how much of it takes place in Ender's head.

Ender's Game is a great book! Who cares what OSC is like? I read this little gem long before I knew anything about him. Why change your mind about great literature because the author is a doosh?

Not watching this...

The book sucked so hard... It has the substance of a short story that is stretched out to 300 pages. The Twist is not worth your time.

Cannot...

... and will not support the release of this movie.

Orson Scott Card is one of the most vile, vitriol spewing, homophobic Morons I've ever had the unfortunate encounter of reading when he's off on his rants about why gay people are evil abominations. If this movie had been made BEFORE Hollywood was aware of what a disgusting human being he is (seeing as how Hollywood has large gay community working within it), it might have made sense. But making this movie AFTER knowing what an asshat the

Bring it on. Looks like it has the potential to be pretty entertaining. Still a little wary about Gavin Hood given X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but I'm digging the cast so far. Particularly Harrison Ford and Hailee Steinfeld.
