First footage from WWII film Fury starring Brad Pitt as Wardaddy

Jun. 10, 2014by: Graham McMorrow

We have our first extended look at the "ultimate Tank movie" FURY and it’s looking very good. The behind-the-scenes featurette shows footage from the anticipated film directed by David Ayer (END OF WATCH). The story takes place in 1945 as the Nazi regime is in collapse and follows the five-man crew of an American tank called "Fury", led by Wardaddy played by Brad Pitt.

Here is the featurette courtesy of IGN:

This likely means a trailer for FURY is not far behind; I have been patiently waiting for footage from the movie and I'm definitely impressed with what we see here. The tone and action looks great; and it's good to hear it's more of character study than an all-out portrayal of war.

FURY stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, and Scott Eastwood . The film will released November 14th, 2014.

Looks promising... Pitt is an actor who I completely trust on his choices... The footage looks interesting but it doesn't have to do anything with the awards season, only if Pitt has managed to pull an impressive performance but this year's competition is already tough... so the deal with this movie is if it will be able to get back its $80 mil. budget...

Looks good!

Is it wrong for me to hope that Shia LaDoofus gets shot by a Nazi in this film... and early?

More like, thank god brad pitt jumped aboard and they didn't have to shoot it on the cheap. I'm sure most filmakers would rather shoot on film, but the fact that they're using that as a selling point indicates to me that Ayer really wanted to do it in film and will be one of the main seeking points of the movie.

Are you kidding? In some cases, shooting on film is a cheaper endeavor. What are you talking about? Amateur filmmakers - sure, that logic applies. Not accomplished filmmakers with budgets.

You have no idea what your talking about. Shooting on film is way more expensive than digital.

In big budget features - or even some independent features, the actual cost of shooting on film is a fragment of the budget. While the economic landscape for an amateur or startup filmmaker dictates that shooting digitally is more cost effective, this approach does not apply, again, to a Hollywood sized budget. Now, I must say again, this logic only applies in the realm of professional filmmaking, where the cost of film is such a minuscule part of a film's budget - to think that it'd have a

While the economic landscape for an amateur or startup filmmaker dictates that shooting digitally is more cost effective, this approach does not apply, again, to a Hollywood sized budget. Now, I must say again, this logic only applies in the realm of professional filmmaking, where the cost of film is such a minuscule part of a film's budget - to think that it'd have a large effect on a production's economics is absolutely absurd. And yes, shooting film can (sometimes) be slightly more cost efficient. When you take into consideration the cost of certain digital equipment, camera rentals - hell, even storing digital films is extremely higher in cost than that of a film print. So, JimThe Pariah, YOU have no idea what you are talking about, and when you work at Arri CSC you can explain to me the economics of filmmaking.

Don`t worry in the coming months with this movie there`ll be plenty of chances for Tank or Fury puns.
