First look at Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto in Immortals

I remember hearing very little about WAR OF THE GODS a while back, but I'm pretty sure I thought it was just a working title for CLASH OF THE TITANS at the time. But it's indeed its own film, and has a new title (probably to disassociate itself with fairly awful TITANS), and it's now called IMMORTALS. It's helmed by Tarsem Singh of THE CELL and THE FALL, and that says that if nothing else, it should at least be visually interesting project.

Below are the first stills from the film, which boasts a pretty impressive cast of Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto, Isabel Lucas, Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff and John Hurt, a few of whom grace the photos below.

Here's a longer plot synopsis to tell you what it's all about.

“A purported bastard who retains an allegiance to his mother despite the fact that he longs to join the quest of a king who is battling demons in ancient Greece later embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king’s son and also fated to become his country’s greatest hero as he leads the successful war against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power.”

THE CELL and THE FALL's imagery crossed with Greek mythology? Count me in.

Extra Tidbit: Why do they keep making these movies without Kratos?
