First look at Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis as Burke and Hare

The British tabloids yesterday captured a few good shots of our mainest men Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis on the set of John Landis's BURKE AND HARE. I love the shot to the right (courtesy of The Sun) and wish I knew the context.

The two below come from British rag The Daily Mail, giving us a decent sense of the look and feel of the film. There are a couple of more behind-the-scene pictures you can check out over at the Edinburgh Daily News if you're interested.

Also, our bloody siblings over at Arrow in the Head have reported on some on-set images of... the set! And they've got a short video of Pegg and Serkis during a take. Check all of that out RIGHT HERE.

Some story details taken from an earlier news item: "Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, 'Hare' is based on the true story a pair of the U.K.'s earliest serial killers, William Burke and William Hare, gravediggers who lucratively sold the corpses of their victims to a medical college for dissection."

tennant

I'm yet to see Tennant do anything I enjoy. Any recommendations? Dr.Who is a steaming turd of cliche' and stolen ideas with masturbatory self endulgent writing that loses itself in it's own pile of spooj. I guess the prosthetics are good though. At least something good has come out of it....lots of experienced British effects workers.

I LOVE me some Simon Pegg (and Serkis, to a lesser extent). I find it funny that he made a big fuss about losing so many "stone" when he made HOT FUZZ and clearly looks like he put it all back on. Still, hot for a pale little British dude.

I agree with Bazzaa about Tennant, right down to the fact that the expression/look Pegg and Serkis have in the first photo reminded me of the one Tennant makes 5 times per Doctor Who episode... not that it's very relevant to anything; it's just a shame Tennant isn't the one to make the expression that was likely put in with him in mind.

All the best to Serkis though, I don't doubt the man.

Can't wait to see Serkis as Captain Haddock. Or... his CGI equivalent.

David Tennant

I'm a fan of Andy Serkis and I think this movie is going to be awesome, but I'm a bit miffed that David Tennant dropped out of this movie (espeically considering his scotish), but I really hope that he gets a part in a big movie so that he can shine.... cough, cough... the hobbit!
