First peek at LEGO Batman emerges from the LEGO Batcave

Warner Bros. has a lot riding on the shoulders of the Dark Knight.

He's a key component of their DC Cinematic Universe, having been brought into the mix after very little layoff from Christopher Nolan's Bat-verse in the hopes of taking the MAN OF STEEL follow-up -BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE to the next level. But he's also a major piece of their expanding LEGO brand, with the studio looking to ride the wave of popularity the LEGO version of Batman tapped into during THE LEGO MOVIE for his own standalone LEGO film. A lot of chips have been pushed into the middle of their Gotham table, and they're hoping people's love for the Caped Crusader means big box office bucks for them over the next few years.

Wednesday, we'll get a glimpse as to if the LEGO side of things might work out with Warner Bros. promising the first trailer for LEGO BATMAN will hit early in the day. However, in the meantime, they are more than happy teasing us with some glimpses of Batman's LEGO world via some new images from the flick. Oh, and star Will Arnett is all about hyping up the new LEGO Batcave that we'll get to check out.

The Batcave is even better than we remembered it, it’s awesome. But I also love getting into the ho-hum day-to-day of being Batman and what it’s like to fight crime each day. Like the idea of Batman oversleeping his alarm clock makes me laugh. It really does humanize him.

As for what kind of film you can expect LEGO BATMAN to be, director Chris McKay sums it up nicely.

Batman is an island onto himself, the only thing he doesn’t have is relationships. We're making ABOUT A BOY as directed by Michael Mann.

LEGO BATMAN swoops into theaters on February 10, 2017.
