First poster for Thor: The Dark World with Chris Hemsworth brings the thunder!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Yesterday, we brought you the news that the first trailer for THOR: THE DARK WORLD would be premiering next week and today we have the first poster for the film, as well as confirmation that the trailer will drop on Tuesday, April 23rd. Pretty sweet, no? The poster is simple enough, featuring the God of Thunder weilding his famed hammer, Mjilnor, which has some new accents added, giving it a more regal appearance than before. Very cool, indeed.

Hammah!:

I’m excited for this pic and stoked to see a new trailer. One of the key selling points is director Alan Taylor who has shown great skill in executing fantasy sword operas with his stellar work on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Although I think Kenneth Branagh did a great job with the first THOR, Taylor brings a different perspective, which will likely translate well in progressing the character forward. You can expect much more of the fantasy element with this sequel as THOR traverses the realms in battling his new enemy.

Here’s the synopsis:

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Eccleston, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Jamie Alexander, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Zachary Levi, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo, Chris O’Dowd returns to the Nine Realms on November 8, 2013.

Stay tuned for the trailer next Tuesday!
