A while back we reported that HERO director Zhang Yimou was remaking the Coen Brothers’ debut film, BLOOD SIMPLE, and calling it THREE GUNS. After getting over the initial shock that an Asian director was remaking an American movie, we started to wonder just what exactly that would be like.
Well, from Chinese site Sina, here are the first three stills for the film, all employing Yimou’s traditional use of period costumes and vibrant colors. But honestly, even for him this looks a little out there. Pink male nightgowns? Ancient three barrel revolvers? Are we sure this isn’t some sort of parody? Or leaked stills from a KUNG FU HUSTLE sequel?
In any case, I’ll most definitely be looking forward to this trailer now.
