First trailer and poster for Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service

05.20.2014

Just earlier today we got a slew of pictures from Matthew Vaughn's (KICK-ASS, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) upcoming feature, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE. While we got some nifty shots of Colin Firth in a suit and Sam Jackson's beautiful self, that was just foreplay in comparison to the first trailer, available for your viewing pleasure now!

Check out the umbrella action here:

Matthew Vaughn definitely has a style applied to any film he touches. As recently proved with the lackluster sequel to KICK-ASS, there's a balance between humor, action, and your characters that Vaughn seems to be very conscious of. Taking a look at the cast assembled here, I look forward to the Firth getting his action kicks and Samuel L. Jackson . . . well, Jackson can do what he damn well pleases and I'll enjoy it.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Michael Caine, Jack Davenport, and Sofia Boutella, will service our theaters on October 24, 2014.

Layer Cake, Sturdust, Kick-Ass, X-MEN: First Class - So far, Matthew Vaughn is a 4/4 director to me, and I ihgly doubt he would dissapoint with this.

Ps.: I don't like the title. "The Secret Service" would have been enough, or even just "Kingsman".

With First Class and now this, he's certainly building a case.

The comic is insane.Highly recommend it.If they can get half of what goes on it and they look like they do this movie is gonna be the tits.Colin Firth is perfect casting as Uncle Jack plus i`ve never seen a movie where Colin kicks ass,oh how delicious this is gonna be.Can`t wait.

If you haven't read Millar's comic, it's basically the flip-side version of his Wanted. Wanted for good guys. Then it takes some of the best stuff from Man from UNCLE and the original Avengers, only with Millar's shock value added in to make it "his own." It's not bad necessarially, you can just tell it was written for the movie pitch and probably nothing more. It's at least better than his reprehensible Kick-Ass series and the godawful Nemesis.

So it's either a sillier version of 'La Femme Nikita', or a more grounded version of 'Wanted'. I can't tell which.

Looks stupid, but fun and with Matthew Vaughn at the helm it probably doesn't suck ass...and The Doors tune, can't go wrong there.

Soooooo glad Vaughn bailed on X-Men:DOFP to direct this instead. Not only does this look like fun, but we get some quality stars this time as well. Also, is Sam Jackson a villain in this one? I hope so, because he needs to play a bad guy every once in awhile since he's so damn good at it.

Matthew Vaughn has proven time and time again he can do no wrong! Here's hoping he does get to tackle X-Men: Apocalypse, in case Bryan Singer does get canned.

To answer your question, here's something from a few months back:

Hopefully, by now, he's got the itch back for X-Men ; )
