First trailer for Disney's video game mash-up movie Wreck-It Ralph with John C. Reilly hits

Jun. 6, 2012by:

Yesterday, we brought you some new images from Disney's WRECK-IT RALPH, the videogame mash-up movie starring John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch and today MSN has debuted the trailer.  The animated film revolves around an arcade game "bad guy" named Wreck-It Ralph who, basically, gets tired of being a bad guy and starts jumping into other games to find a way to be good.

Pop in a few quarters and take a look:

This actually looks like a lot of fun.  I mean, who amongst us isn't invested in videogames to some degree?  It's a cool concept and has a lot of potential, especially with so many licensed characters making appearances throughout.  Now if they could just work in some Gears of War chainsaws we'd be all set.  Either way, this one just moved up a few notches on my scoreboard.

And here's the synopsis:

Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?

WRECK-IT RALPH opens on November 12, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: Anyone else just happy to see an animated non-sequel hit theaters? Plus, John C. Reilly for the win!

Wow

I think that looks fantastic. And the "Roger Rabbit"esque video game cameos seem to be icing on the cake. For your health.

This is going to be one hell of a movie to get excited for. I like how M. Bison is just relaxing next to Zangief.

No matter what I'm watching this. Way to go after my heart Disney. Bison (*coughVega*cough*), Zangief, Bowser, what looks like Jane Lynch doing a cross between Metroid and Mass Effect... OMGOMGOMG

That actually looks really cool! Looks like it'll be worth it just to see all those game characters together.

Good call! I was wondering where that zombie was from but now that you said that, it makes total sense. The axes are a dead giveaway.

great premise

I just wish it was more rendering a 16-bit version of this, instead of the same old Pixar knock-off stuff.

This looks like fun, especially with all the gaming characters I am so familiar with. The scene with Zangief talking was hilarious.

Looks great!

But seriously.... where the fuck did this come from? So many video game bad guys in one trailer. This movie was made for the Nintendo Generation.

The high concept and pop culture references make this seems something like Monsters vs Aliens and Megamind - it's awesome that the game companies allowed Disney to use their characters and John C Reilly seems really likable in the lead role. Also, Jane Lynch as practically an animated version of herself!

looks good! almost looks to be mainly for the parents, with some thrown in for the kids instead of the other way around.

Thumb up

I am usually not so into animated movies, but every once and awhile a movies comes around that hooks me like the Toy Story series and now...Wreck It Ralph. This movie looks phenomenal - the quality is out of this world, and I really hope there is a long segment of the movie featuring Bowser and Zangief.
