First trailer for Dom Hemingway with Jude Law and Richard E. Grant brings the crime comedy

The first trailer for DOM HEMINGWAY, the new crime comedy from director Richard Shepard (THE MATADOR) has arrived, bringing us a surly, grizzled, and menacingly funny Jude Law in the titular role, along with a diversely cool supporting cast, including Richard E. Grant, Demian Bichir, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys in HBO's Game of Thrones), Madalina Diana Ghenea, and Kerry Condon. The proceedings look like a really fun, rough time, keeping perfectly in sync with Shepard's previous efforts.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

After spending 12 years in prison for keeping his mouth shut, notorious safe-cracker Dom Hemingway is back on the streets of London looking to collect what he's owed.

The film recently premiered at TIFF to some pretty damn good reviews, including our own from Bumbray (read here!) and the trailer seems to mirror those sentiments. Law may not have become the debonair leading man that everyone thought he would when he kicked off his career, but I think he's become something much better than that. For the trajectory he's had thus far, DOM HEMINGWAY feels like a perfect fit for the actor and I'm glad to see him embracing his stature as a "tougher" actor rather than a "pretty" one.

DOM HEMINGWAY hits UK theaters on November 15, 2013 and washes up on U.S. shores on April 4, 2014.

They ever make a proper Hellblazer film, Law needs to play Constantine. This looks fun... Matador and Sexy beast were both monster.

I'm kind of pissed that I have to wait until April 2014 but this looks absolutely hilarious. On a sidenote I have been meaning to see Sexy Beast. I'm probably going to watch that next.

Ever since those first pictures broke I have been so pumped for this. His particularly unglamorous tough guy look, playing opposite Richard E. Grant. Really, what more could a person ask for? Oh, it's from the director of The Matador and has Emelia Clarke as his daughter? There you go. Jude has always excelled at playing sleazeballs, whether they be spoiled yuppies or depraved nutcases.

Looks like an absolute fucking blast. Been looking forward to this for a long time.

On a correctional side-note: Richard Shephard had nothing to do with Sexy Beast. It says in the trailer "from the producers of Sexy Beast" and "the director of The Matador".

Good catch. I got overzealous while tossing in credits. Fixed.

Looks great. Will see anything with Jude Law in it and think he is one of the best actors working today.

Would love to see him play a Batman villain in the new franchise...perhaps Riddler.

The heightened visual style reminds me a little of the trailer for the upcoming James McAvoy-starring Filth.

Re extra tidbit: the smooth, charming gent with a bit of a sinister edge or something to hide.
