First trailer for vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows

While ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE looks great, there's another new vampire flick I've been dying to see, although it's a little less serious than the Tom Hiddleston movie. WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS is a horror comedy written and directed by Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, MEN IN BLACK 3) and Taika Waititi (BOY, EAGLE VS SHARK), who also star in the movie. The mockumentary style film follows a group of vampires who live together in New Zealand.

I definitely chuckled a few times while watching this first trailer for WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS. It's a little silly, but really, what do you expect from one of the guys from Flight of the Conchords? WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS looks like it's going to be a fun little movie, and JoBlo.com's Chris Bumbray really enjoyed the comedy when he saw it at Sundance.

"You will not eat the camera guy. Maybe one camera guy…"

Synopsis:

Follow the lives of Viago (Taika Waititi), Deacon (Jonathan Brugh), and Vladislav (Jemaine Clement) – three flatmates who are just trying to get by and overcome life's obstacles-like being immortal vampires who must feast on human blood. Hundreds of years old, the vampires are finding that beyond sunlight catastrophes, hitting the main artery, and not being able to get a sense of their wardrobe without a reflection-modern society has them struggling with the mundane like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS currently doesn't have a U.S. release date, but it will open in New Zealand on June 12th, 2014.
