First Treader pics

11.27.2009

The very first non-leaked photos from THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER have popped up on the film's Facebook page. They contain, as expected, a giant ornately designed ship that we’ve watched be built over the last few months or so, and also Ben Barnes as King Caspian, who looks like he’s aged a solid ten years courtesy of a new beard.

Only Edmund and Lucy are back for this installment, as presumably the older kids are now off partying rather than opting to play inside wardrobes. All you really need to know as it’s going to be just like the first two movies, except now they’re on a boat.

Check out the pictures below, and click to head to the Facebook page to see them bigger.

Extra Tidbit: Yes, I resisted the temptation to yell, "THEY'RE ON A BOAT!"

Dawn Treader

What I like most about franchise films is consistency and I'm glad they brought back the original actors for the third and last? film, the whole fact the they're on a boat may make for a better film, I haven't read the books but if this means they'll be battling animals and sea monsters all at once then I just might give the Treader a chance, I loved the first one but the second one lost me, I'll wait and judge after the trailer.

I really think they did a bad job in bringing these movies to the big screen. I feel like they tried to cash in on the success of Lord of the Rings but failed miserably. Wasn't this movie in danger of seeing a release date?

I'm actually kind of excited about this. The first flick was pretty corny, but I thought Prince Caspian was a pretty solid fantasy film. I'm certainly no movie wizard but I didn't think the numbers for the second movie were THAT bad. I think Disney looked a tad ridiculous for dropping this franchise so soon. Kind of hoping it comes back to haunt them.

I don't trust in Fox anymore

But it's good to have Narnia back. This is one of the slower books in the series, but I hope they can manage successfully cause I really want to see "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" made into films. As far as pics let us see, the details of the Dawn Treader look well done. (Man I hated that Susan-Caspian stuff in the 2nd book movie, it was kinda insulting!)

Didn't Disney ditched Narnia last year? I thought they did since Prince Caspian did so poorly, are the original actors coming back too?
