Flowers for Will Smith | Movie News
Is Will Smith trying to grab some Oscar gold by dumbing down (and then smartening up)?
According to Pajiba, Smith may be producing and starring in an adaptation of Daniel Keyes' acclaimed sci-fi story FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON.
The story follows a mentally handicapped man who undergoes an experimental procedure that increases his intelligence until he reaches genius level, only to then find himself a social outcast. Ultimately he learns that the experiment's origin, the titular mouse, is deteriorating.
The material nabbed an Academy Award for Cliff Robertson when adatped into 1968's CHARLY. Although it didn't do quite as much for Matthew Modine and the 2000 TV version.

Extra Tidbit: Let's hope Will learned a lesson from Kirk Lazarus.

I think this could be the role that gets Smith his Oscar, personally.
