Four for Ga’hoole

Four awesome male actors are lending their voices to Zack Snyder’s animated film, GUARDIANS OF GA’HOOLE.

Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham are bringing their wonderful accents into a movie about owls. Okay, there’s more to it than that. The story is about an owl named Soren, who is captivated by his Dad’s epic stories about a mythic group of warriors with wings called the GUARDIANS OF GA’HOOLE. The guardians fought valiantly to save all owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. Of course, this will be in 3D.

The film is in production in Sydney and already has a massive cast: Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Helen Mirren and Jim Sturgess. I like the idea of a movie about owls, especially with everyone that’s involved. It’s pretty cool seeing Ryan Kwanten in something else besides TRUE BLOOD, even if it’s just his voice. The guy is great on the show as Sookie’s brother, Jason Stackhouse.

This is the first animated movie Snyder is directing. He was executive producer and screenplay writer for TALES OF THE BLACK FREIGHTER. GA’HOOLE is set to be released in Australia on December 9, 2010.
