If I had to guess, I think we have Glee to thank for this upcoming FOOTLOOSE remake, as musical kids are now as cool as vampires because of that show.
I'm skeptical that Kenny Wormald can match Kevin Bacon's charisma level, but director Craig Brewer has done interesting things with films like HUSTLE AND FLOW and BLACK SNAKE MOAN, so I'm curious to see how this will go.
There are four new posters out for the film today, which I would actually not classify as "character posters" in the traditional sense where they're stamped with one person and a name, so that's not so bad.

Horrible Idea
I don't think the general public could find it very believable that some town in this day and age would outlaw rock music and dancing.
If the story was flipped to be about gay marriage, maybe then I'd buy it...
