Four new images from X-Men: Days of Future Past include Logan and Magneto

02.14.2014

Well, one thing is for sure about X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST: They aren't afraid to share some images. Granted, we'd all like to see a new trailer (like, yesterday), but there's been a steady stream of images and teases from the start of production up to now, which is a welcome change from the uber secrecy of so many other projects out there. I'm not saying we need to see every little damn thing, but a new image or two each month isn't going to kill the box office. Case in point, we've got four new images from the X-inbetweequel today, showing off some of the key players from the film, including hippie Professor X, bone-claw Logan, and both 70's Magneto and future Magneto (to accompany yesterday's similarly-themed shot).

Take a look:

Like most of you, I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Sentinel's look in action, which has been under wraps since this sucker kicked off. And, it's understandable, especially since their inclusion in this film plays such a big role and is the first time we're seeing those mutant exterminators in a live action setting. I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to see Beast hurl Wolverine at one of those purple-clad robots and start "snipping wires." I just need a shot of Wolverine standing over a destroyed Sentinel with sparks and shit flying out. I don't think that's too much to ask. We'll see if I get it, though.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, directed by Bryan Singer, hits theaters on May 23, 2014.

I think Jackman reprises the Wolverine roles soley to stay in shape, rofl. The dude looks better and bigger in each movie(no homo, lol). It's amazing to see how much dedication he's put into looking the role of Wolverine and really making it his own. Sure I think someone else could finally take over the role but we all think Wolverine and Jackman as one at this point.

Jackman is just RIPPED!

I remember having conversation with a dude I knew after the first X-Men film was released. He was going on about how skinny Jackman looked and that Wolvie was supposed to have huge muscles, like in the comics.

It's funny because the first X-Men was on last weekend and I was amazed on Hughs transformation from that to Days of Future Past.

So who are all the mutants we've seen in films before that aren't making an appearance in this one?
Old Beast/Kelsey Grammar, who else?

Beast, Angel, Nightcrawler, Gambit and Cyclops.

Basically, all the other fan favourites that Singer didnt bring back because that way Hugh Jackman would have less screentime.

That vain on Hugh Jackman's arm is endless.

I agree with what MickLoud said in reply to The_Soloist that it's time for Jackman to retire the role. He's the best he's ever been at the character but I'm ready for a short hairy guy for 20th Century Fox to pass the torch to. And piggybacking off of what MickCloud said, they could have had so many opportunities to take the movies in different directions not being so Wolverine centric. Ellen Page could have held her own in this or even have Bishop be a leading role like the 90's cartoon

They could have cast Idris Elba or someone who can lead besides Jackman and have Wolverine in a supporting role for once.

We're almost three months away and I for one couldn't be more excited. I just want to see Wolverine kill everything and anything in this film since this might be his last X-Men film.

I don't mean to come down too hard on the X-Men films. But I honestly do hope it is his last. He's done an amazing job as the character and has truly made it his own. Honestly can't see anyone else in the role.

But at the same time his performance has completely overshadowed everything about X-Men. There are so many rich and wonderful characters in the comics, but they all get relegated to a supporting role because the stories are always created around Wolverine, Prof. X, and Magneto.

It would be great for Jackman to formerly retire the character and force FOX and Singer to create stories around some of the other popular heroes. I would love for them to bring back Cyclops and have a movie with him front and centre as the lead.

If anything, Fox owes him a huge send off for basically committing himself to every time he's portrayed Wolverine. I for one hope the third solo Wolvie film is indeed his last. Whatever the plot, they should end the film showing Hugh Jackman as Old Logan.

All the pictures have been great to see, but its time we see something substantial, like Sentinels fighting the X-Men and the rest of the supporting cast.

Just re-watched First Class...

...and I'm pumped to see where DoFP takes those characters. Vaughn did such a fantastic job and I sort of wish he would've stayed on for the sequel, but I don't mind Singer at all. As far as I'm concerned, Singer's made 2 great X-Men films and one mediocre Superman one...not sure why he gets so much hate. In any event, bring on DoFP!

Giant Sentinels

I am prepared to forgive Singer for Superman if he includes giant freaking sentinels in DOFP. And the robots with giant fans in their chest don't count.

Make it break

I'm definitely excited for this movie! However, how the sentinels look and come off on screen will determine if this movie goes from popcorn good to kick ass!
