Fox Atomic Apparently, rumors of Fox Atomic's demise have not been greatly exaggerated. The teen-centric specialty division of 20th Century Fox has officially been shut down.

For the last few days, there's been rumors that the company's future was uncertain considering it hasn't been producing as well as Fox originally hoped it would but it seems today they finally decided to just put the division out of its misery. Two of the films the division currently has in post-production - the Diablo Cody-fied horror JENNIFER'S BODY starring Megan Fox, and the Chris Columbus directed high school comedy I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER starring Hayden Panettiere - will be released as scheduled but the Alexis Bledel starring college comedy POST GRAD will be released through Fox Searchlight. As for the sequel 28 MONTHS LATER, which was supposed to be a Fox Atomic release? It will apparently continue development at Fox Proper. Or not.

As expected, some select staff will be re-shuffled to Fox Proper and other division of Fox while others will be getting their ass booted from the company.

Thank God! A movie studio dedicated to releasing only crappy movies? Who would have thought it would've failed?

REVENGE OF THE NERDS
Besides never producing a single hit film, Fox Atomic also suffered a huge blow early on: its first planned film, a remake of Revenge of the Nerds, was shut down after a week of filming. If you Google it, you'll find old news reports. They had already invested millions of dollars into the project getting it off the ground, so that was an early nail in the coffin.
