Fox confirms Prometheus 2 coming in either 2014 or 2015!

Looks like we may get to find out if Shaw and David make it to Paradise after all.
Fox president of production Emma Watts confirmed that the sequel to Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS will be released in either 2014 or 2015. This comes after the film grossed $300 million worldwide, which is not a huge number but still very good.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Ridley Scott is actively working on the sequel. Both stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are contracted for a second film. Screenwriter Damon Lindelof may not return due to other projects so Scott and Fox and considering other writers.
Watts states "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it."
This is awesome news. While PROMETHEUS was not the absolute cinematic perfection I built it up to be in my head, it was still a great movie. I loved every second of it and I hope the sequel explores the themes of the movie without spending any time on the ALIEN creatures themselves.
Even if it means waiting until 2015, that is well worth it to see Ridley Scott return to this story again.
| Extra Tidbit: | The THR article also states TED 2, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN 2, and AMERICAN PIE 5 are on their way. |

Thank you!
I tried to convince myself while I was watching Prometheus that it was good.
But after considering it I had to come to the realization that it was little more than a rewrite of the original Alien screenplay, nothing beyond that happened except for the addition of some Ancient Alien elements. And it wasn't scary, at all.
Frankly, the characters were dysfunctional to the point of silliness.

Can we get a 'C'mon Hollwood: Make more Sci-Fi movies!' please?

Prometheus...f**k yeah!
gummy bears....
Yes! But...
I liked Prometheus, a lot.
My opinion and the internet's opinion on movies hasn't exactly been aligning lately. Maybe it's time we started seeing different people. Oh well, I've been having a lot of fun at the movies this year (except Ice Age 4, fuck that movie)

I can always catch it on cable or Netflix when I'm good and drunk and there's nothing else on but Cops reruns.

Great News!
Prometheus doesn't deserve the hate...
Shaw and David go to LV-426. This movie has received a lot of bad pub... it was thought provoking and one of the best films of 2012. Kudos to Scott.

PS I like how the tidbit just casually tosses out Ted 2 like no one saw it, when Ted outgrossed Prometheus by a nice margin..

Around 13:45 he starts talking about Prometheus. He is a lot more honest and open about working with Ridley Scott on Jon Spaihts script than in interviews prior to the films release where he had to do his job, act positive and promote it. A very interesting watch, especially if you're interested in screenwriting.
