French actor Omar Sy is the latest to join X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has added some international flavor to its cast. Director Bryan Singer took to Twitter to welcome French thespian Omar Sy into the mutant fold:

Singer Tweet

Omar Sy is probably most famous for staring in the 2011 French comedy-drama THE INTOUCHABLES (also known as UNTOUCHABLE) that Singer mentions in his tweet. The film was a huge hit overseas (over $400 million) and an American remake is in the works. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will be Omar Sy's first English-language role, however who he will be playing in the film has not been released at this time.

I haven't seen THE INTOUCHABLES but I've heard nothing but good things about the flick. The past ten years or so we've seen a massive expansion of theaters in foreign markets and with as much money THE INTOUCHABLES made it comes as no surprise to see Omar Sy cast in a big budget Hollywood movie.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is in pre-production and is set to start filming next month. Is this the end of the casting news or do you think there are a couple of roles still left to fill?

Extra Tidbit: Any thoughts on who Omar Sy might play if he is playing a mutant character? Bishop perhaps?

A walk on part? With so many people signed up to this...there will be a lot of fans disappointed with how certain actors or actresses are most likely going to be used in the movie. In another 5 years time...when one of the lesser known actors or actresses becomes a hit...and their new fans check out IMDB to see what else they have been in...they'll go..."da f*ck"...they were in that X-Men sequel! It happens to me often...but most recently...when I went to check out what the the guy who

Hmm, I think the cast is getting a little crowded.

Why? Just cause it has James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewat, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Caleb Landry Jones, maybe James Marsden, and now Omar Sy?

You seem way off base here.

Right now there are only 13 characters. X2 had more than that.

And this is a crossover movie, of course it will have more characters than the previous movies.

PITI, NON !

WTF ! This so called 'actor' is SOOOOO overrated. He has no talent whatsoever, as the only thing he can 'play' is, basically himself: a somehow cool black, smart ass guy, from the wrong side of Parisian suburb...

Would be the best news if he was Bishop, instead of Kitty that was going back in time. Also, do you guys think he could hide his strong French accent for the role?

Id like him to be Bishop, but personally I preffer Kitty as the traveler.
about his accent, if he works hard, he could hide it, so would be up to him
