French car commercial features a train heist from Solo: A Star Wars Story

Sacrebleu, is that a Wookie I see riding atop that speeding train? Wow, I had no idea that an Star Wars-brand locomotive ran through places like the Massif Central and the Auvergne Mountains of France! Alright, alright, let's reign it in there, Steve. Joking aside, the French automobile company Renault has released a new commercial which features Chewbacca as part of a tie-in promotion for SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Star your engines, Nerf herders!

In the advertisement, we find a Mother of the Year nominee who's looking to snag the attention of her distant son by taking a detour that leads directly to the harrowing action of a complicated train heist. Unfortunately for old Chewie, it looks as if the conductor is onto him, and has flipped the switch on the transport's security system. Perhaps that's why the Wookie is flailing his arms to and fro, in the hope of getting the attention of his bandit partner, who's likely to be flying the Millennium Falcon nearby.

The promotion ties in directly with Ron Howard's upcoming Star Wars film, which also features its own over-the-top train heist sequence. The question now is: How will Chewie and Han manage to complete the job? Will they be flying … solo … or perhaps enlist the aid of Donald Glover's young Lando Calrissian or Emilia Clarke's Qi'Ra, in order to come out on top? We'll have to wait for when the movie arrives on May 25th to find out, though I can guarantee that Renault's SUV won't be playing a part in the caper. Then again, how fast does that thing actually go?
