From 300 to 305

The last bastion of free speech. The internet. A place where you can go and let every racist epithet and gay joke fly, not to mention it’s where you can freely enjoy watching two lovely girls enjoying one cup of chocalatey goodness. It’s also become a pool for aspiring filmmakers looking to bypass conventional avenues to get their films seen. But just like most public pools, you have to wade through the loose band-aids and occasional log in the water for a spot worthwhile. There a point? No, just the image of shit in pools is like old people with an overflowing colostomy bag: hilarious.

What started out as a five minute video on YouTube has turned into a feature length film for filmmakers David and Daniel Holechek. Their original short “305”, a spoof on the movie 300, has over four million views on YouTube and Myspace and caught the attention of a producer willing to throw them a little cash to expand their idea into a feature film. Are you listening studios? Take a chance every once in awhile, and not by hiring McG or whatever the hell his dumb name is to direct Terminator 4. That’s not taking a chance. Well…I don’t have things weighing heavily on my mind. I swear to God I don’t.

From the press release: 305 is a mockumentary detailing the misadventures of five not-so-brave members of the Spartan army charged with guarding a seemingly ordinary goat path. But when their actions lead to the death of King Leonidas and his army of 300 men, the five are forced into hiding.

Stay tuned to the DVD CLINIC for more info and a review on the DVD, which will be released on July 8th.
