From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series Season Two poster and new details!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

In a couple of months, Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network will debut the second season of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. The other day we unveiled a handful of new stills from the horror show, and today we’ve got the new poster, along with some details about the direction of the show.

Kurt Volk, the channel’s VP and creative director, said this about S2:

“We’re in the second act of the story and it’s taken a dark turn. If season one was the day, season two is definitely the night. For this teaser campaign, we wanted to illustrate that Richie Gecko, our anti-hero from season one, has been pulled into Santanico’s world and vice versa. The Gecko brothers have split up and now it’s all about the new pairings. This composition really appealed to us- she’s a goddess and Richie is evolving. The cool blue palette is a thread throughout the season. During season one, our characters spent a lot of time in the middle of nowhere. This season, they spend a lot of time in the city-as a result, the series has a slicker, more urban sensibility and that is definitely reflected in our design.”

I mostly enjoyed the first season of the series, stuck with the whole thing to the very end, but didn’t necessarily find myself enraptured by it either. I’m still undecided if I’ll give it a second go. Perhaps I’ll feel it out for a few episodes, just for Satanico…

Here’s a quick catch-up on what’s going down in Rodriguez’s world of bloodsuckers and bandits:

The show travels between Mexico and the edgy, tricked-out Texas of Robert Rodriguez. It also deepens and complicates the core relationships among the characters while adding new faces and new dynamics. Our characters are all living in very separate worlds: Santánico and Richie are outside Houston, doing their best Bonnie and Clyde; Seth and Kate are scraping by South of the Border; and Freddie Gonzalez is protecting his wife and young daughter in the suburbs. Carlos Madrigal and Scott Fuller emerge from the Titty Twister changed men. They will all come together once again – this time facing off against an even bigger threat.

From Dusk Till Dawn Season Two debuts August 25th.
