Strike Back below!
by: Paul Tassi Dec. 15, 2009

I’ve literally never heard anything about this project until right now, but I found its concept interesting enough to write up. FROZEN tells the story of three ill fated youths, Kevin Zegers ("Gossip Girl"), Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN) and Emma Bell (GRACIE). who get stuck on a ski-lift in the middle of a blizzard. Please save your Ashmore-Iceman jokes until the end of the article.

It’s supposed to be pretty decent, though I’m not quite sure about the quote “Will do for skiing what Jaws did for swimming.” I think that’s probably only true if JAWS was not about a shark, but rather a few people who got stuck in the middle of the ocean and got tired and drowned. Or maybe, there’s an abominable snowman, who knows.

Check out the poster below, and click on it to head to ShockTillYouDrop to make it super-sized.

This all depends on at what point on the line the lift is. Wind, snow, hail, darkness, temperature. All scary stuff you forget about when the line is running.

They get stuck on a ski lift? Sounds more like Open Water than Jaws unless there's an abominable snowman chasing them. Poster looks good though.

This is a terrifying poster. It's gritty, and exciting. Although I don't know how you'd just... FALL OFF a ski lift like that... loser.

Is this out all ready? That is what was inferred in the summary. This reminds me of "Alive". However, Alive was based on a true story, where Jaws was the harsh environment, predicament and each other.

WTF?
That seems like such an easy situation to get out of.

*Start by checking to see which direction is the shortest distance, either to the top or bottom*

1) Climb to the cable on the top which you could easily hold onto and slowly push yourself down the cable. Use your belt to strap yourself to the cable in case you slip.

2) Reach the next bench and...

2) Reach the next bench and rest on it if you need to.

3) Start climbing across the cable again and just keep repeating until you're close enough to the ground that you can jump off and go get help.

Problem solved.

I'm going to wait until they make the movie "Wet".

It'll be about a guy trapped in the bathtub because his legs fell asleep, and he desperately needs to get to the telephone because it's ringing.

Hmmm....maybe I ought to pitch this idea to JJ Abrams.

magicwizguy - I think you are the only one hailing saw and cube as some of the best movies ever created, as well as the only one lumping it in with 12 Angry Men. Nice job awkwardly responding to sarcasm with preachy matteroffactness.

You're not getting the point: 12 Angry Men, Saw, Cube, Phone Booth, Open Water. What did they all have in common? They are one-setting movies and most of the ones I've listed are hailed to be some of the best films ever created.

Tagline is weak
The poster is pretty cool. But they use the "jaws" tagline for everything.

Looks like a fun movie to have on DVD just in store for one of those perfect weekday / weekend nights that just demand a movie such as this. Seriously, I'm not making fun of this or anything. Movies like these do extremely well when watched nder the right conditions. In the cinema? Not at all I'm guessing. At home, DVD, in the mood for horror but not the ghoulish or monstrous kinds...this flick...

cool concept, I suppose, but it could be boring. Like BURIED, I'm wondering how a 90 minute+ movie can take place in just one tiny location without it being boring. Prove me wrong, filmmakers! Also, tagline FAIL.

Damn, Zombie Platypus beat me to it! Well, that's what I'd do too. Is there a trailer for this yet?

Maybe the third lead is a ski patrol guy who senses trouble on the ski lift.
