Sigh. There’s one franchise that I could really care less about and that’s BRIDGET JONES. So the news that the third installment finally has a director does nothing for me. But for those of you who enjoy it, here’s the lowdown.
Peter Cattaneo, who you may know as director of THE FULL MONTY is currently in talks to direct BRIDGET JONES’S BABY. Paul Feig was attached to direct early on then left the project. Around the same time, Jones creator/writer Helen Fielding said that her work had an inherently British sensibility that needed a British helmer. Feig can do better anyway.
In this installment, Bridget goes back to Daniel (Hugh Grant) and gets knocked up. When that relationship caves in on itself and Daniel dumps her, Bridget goes crawling back to Mark (Colin Firth).
Filming is slated to start early next year.
