Game of Thrones already renewed for a fourth season

Apr. 2, 2013by: Alex Maidy

I resisted GAME OF THRONES for as long as I could and ended up cramming the first two seasons in the week before the premiere of season three. Needless to say, I am hooked by the show and now that I have to wait each week for the next chapter, I am foaming at the mouth.

While the premiere episode drew about a third of what THE WALKING DEAD has been getting each week, almost 5 million viewers is good enough for HBO to lock in a fourth season of the show to premiere in 2014. The fourth season will likely focus on the second half of the third book, A Storm of Swords. I would think because of the massive scope of the remaining novels in the series, we can expect every two seasons to cover each successive novel.

GAME OF THRONES already has a massive amount of characters to focus on and only films 10 episodes each season. I couldn't help but feel that each of the first two seasons were leaving out a ton of subplots and details, which makes me want to read the books even more. I hope the third season does even better at balancing the growing cast of characters because I want to see where this show will go.

Here is a look at the next episode of GAME OF THRONES.

It would be a shame if the show did not make it to the end of the series of books, but in that case GRRM will have to get on with the writing.
Also, this is the second article on the net I've seen mentioning that GoT got less viewers than TWD. Is that even a fair comparison? Do popular shows on pay channels like HBO and Showtime ever come close to popular shows on cable?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

While most people complain about the first episode not having anything happen in it, I'm thrilled to have the show back and enjoyed it so much I watched it twice. The time passed so quickly!

This has been known for awhile, but it's nice to finally see it confirmed. I hope the show balances the old and new characters well, and not avoid including some of the crucial points in the book. With this information in mind, I am under the impression this season will end with Joffrey's wedding.

Without spoiling anything just answer yes or no, am I going to hate him more than I already do? I know that kid is just an actor, but if I saw him walking down the street I'd probably drop kick him with little to no hesitation.

Meh

My only dissapointment was how they skipped the fist of the first men, and had sam saved by ghost, who is somehow not with Jon? Above the wall is my favorite story line, and theyre kinda butchering it. I mean, Mance and Tormund Giantsbane are written much more jovial. Meh, Ill keep watching.

wait?

Is this still news? The 3rd book was already being split into season 3 and 4 or was there actually some sort of doubt that that was going to happen at some point?

love it

youre not really missing subplots, they just gloss over some things that Martin seems to have put a lot of thought into. there is a lot of religious detail in the books as well as tons of awesome backstory of the rise and fall of House Targaryen.

My Favorite Show.

This is great news. I can't hype this show enough, in fact, I'm about to watch the premiere for a 3rd time. I've actually begun reading the series and already notice some differences, nothing crazy so far, however I'm still on the first book. Since book 4 and 5 are simultaneous, so I imagine that whole part of the story will be two seasons as well.

I can't recall any subplot being cut so far.but there's most likely to be PLENTY cut from Books 4 & 5... As for DETAIL? Yeah, there's lots more in the books. I think 40% of Martin's writing is description of food & clothing. LOL

I just finished watching the first 2 season of Game of Thrones. Great Show! I have not watched the season 3 premiere yet but planning on it tonight. Glad the show is renewed for a 4th season.
