Over the weekend, Lionsgate debuted the trailer for their actioner GAMER. In it, Gerard Butler plays a death row inmate who's part of a massive mutltiplayer gaming environment where his actions are controlled by someone on the outside. He, along with other death row inmates, can gain their freedom by winning a certain amount of matches but fed up with being the puppet of kill-hungry teens, Butler decides to go after the game's mastermind - a hilariously accented Michael C. Hall. Check out the trailer below. And check out the film's non-motion poster below that. The game begins September 4th.

And as understandable as the comparison is, I hope the Death Race comparison doesn't pick up. That was mindless fun and this.......... will be too... but with the Neveldine/Taylor twist, so it'll hopefully stand out in the style department.
