The GANGSTER SQUAD continues to grow as new and talented actors keep getting thrown into the mix. The period crime drama from 30 MINUTES OR LESS director Ruben Fleischer just last week added "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston, and now Deadline reports that Giovanni Ribisi (TED, THE RUM DIARY) has landed a co-starring role.

Ribisi will play 'Conway Keeler', "a cop in the group who is a master of electronics and wires." Apart from Ribisi and Cranston, the cast includes the likes of Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Michael Peņa, and Sean Penn who will play Jewish mobster 'Mickey Cohen'. The film "is the fact-based tale of the crime fighting exploits of a squad of elite Los Angeles officers in the 1940s charged with stopping [Cohen] and other mobsters."

Ribisi is currently filming on Seth MacFarlane's feature directorial debut TED alongside Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, which will be out next summer. But you can catch him before that once THE RUM DIARY (finally) hits theaters this October.

ribisi is a special ingredient actor

he makes everything he is in better...

fave role is the obvious one...i'll pick him for saving private ryan, too.

i like his scene where the character's talking about ignoring his mother and that haunting pause before he delivers the bit: "i dont know why i did that."

and i also like his death scene when he's assessing himself and shouts out: "oh god, that's my liver!"

boiler room is second: love the scene when he reverses the rap on the telemarketer on the phone when he gets a

Boiler room,he made mod squad watchable, was really good in his avatar role. This guy is an amazing actor and way under used. Personally I think he makes every movie he is in that much better. Even gone in 60 seconds he did well in and we all know not much was put into that movie by any of the big name actors that were cast.
