It's Jaimie Lannister vs. Leonidas!

Gerard Butler is currently in negotiations to join the Alex Proyas (THE CROW, I, ROBOT) directed Egyptian mythology actioner GODS OF EGYPT from Lionsgate, which currently has Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau already attached.

Butler would play "Set, a god of the desert, storms, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. In Egyptian mythology, he killed and mutilated his own brother Osiris. Horus, the son of Osiris, sought revenge against Set for the killing of his father." Coster-Waldau will be playing Horus, setting the stage for a godly throw down between the two actors.

The script is from Burk Sharpless & Matt Sazama, who recently completed Universal's DRACULA script. No word on shooting dates. More as this develops.
