Get a look at the new and improved Bumblebee in Michael Bay's Transformers 4!

May. 30, 2013by:

Michael Bay's official site has revealed the new and improved look for another series mainstay in the fourth TRANSFORMERS film, this time being the lovable "heart" of the franchise, Bumblebee. Going for a more classic look, rather than the revamped new model used in the prior films, this is a vintage 1967 Camaro SS. I think it's pretty cool that they've chosen to go this route as it adds a bit more character to the autobots. Instead of just being a bunch of concept cars, which is still pretty slick, I think it lets the personality show a bit more. After all, the autobots can basically "choose" whatever they want to be. So, does that mean that Bumblebee has become a vintage hipster musclehead?

Take a look:

Bumblebee joins the ranks of the latest reveals of Optimus Prime, Slingshot (Corvette), and Drift (Bugatti). Will we get some villainous reveals soon (or perhaps some prehistoric ones)?  Overall, I like what I've seen thus far and although the Baytorade will flow like wine no matter what, it feels like they're getting back to the pulse of the series. It's still early in the game, but the players look good.

TRANSFORMERS 4, starring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, and Stanley Tucci is set to debut on June 27, 2014.

It's a shame the new transformers movie didn't go back too it's roots and you the R Line VW Beetle for Bumblebee it looks so much better than the Camero. They really messed it up again.

At least Joblo didn't mislead with the title on this article. I was just looking at IGN.com at the same information, and article title on the homepage said, "Check out Bumblebee's vintage look from Transformers 4". Of course, with that title, I was assuming a Volkswagon Bug or Beetle.

EDIT: They have now changed the title of the article on the homepage. IGN.com = poor journalism.

Bay's magical act to show us pretty cars to hide a terrible script.

Bumblebee was a (beat up) '77 Camaro in the first movie when he first meets Sam. he later changes when Sam and Megan Fox are out for a drive and they pass a new Camaro and make some comment about it being a hot car. so i guess Bumblebee can go back to his true hipster vintage nature now that Sam's gone. at least they didn't revert him back to a VW Beetle.

If anything, I hope this fourth entry is closer to the original Transformers film than the two sequels after it.

The new updated Bumblebee looks great.

Yes, complete with cheesy lines of dialogue about destiny and lame 80s pop songs in the third act's big action scene.

No Way.. The third was much better.. You can actually see them Transforming as opposed to the mashed up shit from 1 and 2. And the action sequences were cool and the humans actually served a purpose.. I could go on and on.. Part 1 was decent.. Part 2 was for people with ADHD

Reboot?

One thing I don't get about all the bay haters or why people are clamoring about a reboot. For as "bad" as these movies are getting, (loved the first film, 2nd just take away the twins and you got a decent flick, 3rd totally agree with therealkalel, change the ending and ya got something good) THEY STILL MAKE A SHITLOAD OF CASH! Say it's because of the pre teens, morons, whatever, numbers don't lie and anyone on this site who's badmouthed these movies had to have seen them.

To be honest, I

To be honest, I really don't mind Bay doing these films, it's a perfect niche for him, giant robots blowing shit up. Where does that not spell out Michael Bay style? For those clamoring for a different view, sure it'd make sense, but really what would be different? You'd still get human lead characters because studios are hellbent on the belief we people need to relate to other people in the film and not giant robots.

I'm fine with Bay helming this, takes him away from doing other things, keeps him with a franchise that he's perfect for. Disagree with me all you want, end of the day numbers don't lie and this movie's gonna make a shitload of cash.

i totally agree with you & the Bay hate is definitely starting to get old & has run his course. He doesn't deserve the flack that say Schumacher, Ratner or even McG get. He knows how to make movie & they make a ton of money.

I gave you a thumbs down because even smart filmgoers need some stupid distraction. You didn't like them, so everyone who did are either too young or stupid? These movies are god awful, but I'll be seeing TF4 opening weekend, most like. If anything, the "Bay haters" are just a small, but vocal group of film snobs who hate that small arthouse movies don't make a Billion dollars in the way coffee snobs only get their chai vanilla latte with a shot of espresso and cinnamon from a local

@Indydan- I agree with everything you said, I believe we're actually on the same level when it comes to these movies, are they dumb? Hell's yeah, but they're entertaining which is ultimately I believe the goal of every movie. I didn't mean to say those who enjoy them are exclusively dumb teens and dumb people. We all have guilty pleasures. Like you said even smart filmgoers need stupid distractions.

a reboot would have been better

Michael Bay did not do a good job overall with the first 3, (1 was ok, 2 SUCKED and 3 would have sucked if it wasnt for the end fight scene) why hes allowed to do a 4th is beyond me, they should have given it to someone new and done a reboot if they wanted to keep it going, atleast this time they have Mark Wahlberg as the lead and not that annoying weasley shia labeouf....you would think he could have atleast become more of a man throughout the movies but even after saving the world twice in

I love vintage cars so this is a good news for me, although I love the 1969 Chevy Camaro more. Hey, maybe Ironhide could actually be a red van this time.
