Get glimpse at the making of Assassin’s Creed with a new featurette

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With less than two months to go until the release of the newest video game adaptation, ASSASSIN’S CREED, many are wondering what this movie will do differently than others of the sort. Not only that, but fans (like myself) are hoping this will be an adaptation worthy of the source material. Well, if you’re tired of waiting for new trailers to answer your questions, then behold this insightful behind-the-scenes featurette about the making of the movie from the mouths of star Michael Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel. They are pretty smart.

What I found most fascinating is the desire from Fassbender and Kurzel to be as practical and realistic in the action as possible. A lot of big-budget action movies (especially ones based off video games) rely heavily on CGI to the point where it almost looks cartoonish. But the need to make this movie feel real and use actual locations only reinforces my hope the team is focused on not just making a fun movie, but a good one. I'm very close to giving up hope on video game-based movies, but CREED is doing a very good job of keeping me in the game, so to speak.
