Get more Carrie with Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore in the latest featurette for the film

Aug. 30, 2013by:

One could say, "Well, we've seen the first CARRIE so we already know what to expect." I think that's true in a sense, but from what I'm hearing about Kimberly Peirce's take on the classic horror flick it's a terrific new take on the material.

Peirce is probably the perfect person you didn't know what perfect for this job. At least not the one we thought about at first. Those who have seen the previews thus far can tell that this is possibly going to be another great installment for the horror genre. What's especially exceptional is that we already have one iconic film about the same tortured girl.

In the latest featurette, we get interviews with Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, and Peirce. There's also a good deal of new footage so you can get a better look into what the film will offer.

Check it out below.

Synopsis: A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chlo Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter, Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Judy Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc. Brian De Palmas 1976 film version of CARRIE earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.

CARRIE will terrorize theaters on October 18, 2013.

A featurette isn't necessary...

They already showed the whole movie in the trailer.

Yeah, but everyone knows the whole story. It's a remake and based on a well-known novel, so it's not like the trailer spoils anything we don't already know. The original Carrie has the image of her with a blood-soaked prom dress. This is more an example of how a movie is executed, not being surprised by the story. The ending is already very easily identified.

Looks like it will be closer to the novel. Can't wait!

Also, reading the comments below makes me think people don't remember how cruel teenagers can be. I was relentlessly bullied in school. They don't care if you are pretty, you're just not one of "them".

Oh, I remember how cruel teenagers can be but, as I said before, Chloë Grace Moretz is so iconic as Hit Girl that it'll be hard seeing her as the put-upon Carrie. Nothing against her as an actress, just the fact that I look at her, I see Hit Girl.

I don't get it.....

The original had Spacek, a very average (I'd say unattractive) girl who could play weird as well (she just had that kind of face). Now you've got Moretz, a fairly attractive girl trying to portray someone who not only is disliked by the girls, but by horny teenage boys as well (to the point where they are willing to torture her to show their disdain).

Sorry, the premise is flawed on it's face. I can't suspend disbelief for the entire film just to get to the last 5 minutes that I've

You should watch kick ass 2, where Moretz plays the exact same role....

In Carrie its not that she's ugly, she's thought of as a weirdo freak outcast because of her mother.

Will the next trailer focus on the two potential boyfriends Carrie has to choose between?

Looks like fucking shit.

I hate to say this

but my biggest potential problem with this movie may be Chlo Grace Moretz herself. She's probably the best young actress of her generation but it'll be hard seeing Hit Girl as a put-upon outcast, the same way I couldn't see Daniel Craig (AKA James Bond) as Mikael Blomkvist in THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.

I hope she surprises me.
