Get over here! Check out the trailer for web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy season 2

The MORTAL KOMBAT film series has had an odd journey to be sure. The first film, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson was a solid hit for the franchise, while the sequel, MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNHILIATION, was less than stellar. Since then, rumors of a new film bounced around, ultimately leading nowhere until director Kevin Tancharoen took it on with his MORTAL KOMBAT: REBIRTH short film, which served as a concept for Warner Bros. to get a new feature made.
Although WB didn't greenlight a new film, they did greenlight the web series, which is now jumping into a second season. The first series had a number of B-grade stars, including Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan, with season 2 picking up some new faces, including Casper Van Dien as Johnny Cage, Mark Dacascos as Kung Lao, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa returning to the role of Shang Tsung, the same villainous role he played in the first film.
Fight!:
This looks pretty fun and I'll likely catch the episodes as they hit. It's not high art and it won't change your life, but it's good, solid, cheesy, action-y fun for those of us that spent countless hours battling our friends and delivering fatalities throughout our childhood. If anything, it's a nostalgic throwback to the good ol' Mortal Kombat days.
MORTAL KOMBAT: LEGACY season 2 will debut it's 10-episodes via Machinima's You Tube channel in 2013.

As for the recasting of Raiden, I'm down with it. It doesn't look like they changed his origin, as TheBigElectron suggests. They just recast him. He was always a thunder god, even in Season 1.
The recasting of Shang Tsung with the original actor from the movie is fucking beautiful. I just wish Robin

The recasting of Shang Tsung with the original actor from the movie is fucking beautiful. I just wish Robin Shou could play Liu Kang again, but I understand that he probably looks too old now.
All in all, I'm still very excited about this series. I hope we get to see Reptile eventually, as a ninja, not a lizard monster. He's always been my favorite MK character.
As for the Extra Tidbit: I would like to see it continue in film form, but I'm pretty happy with the web series alone.
Raiden.
Bring back Raiden
One of the biggest problems with this series were the poor casting choices
And I don't care too much about Casper Van Dien being in this. He may not be the best actor in the world, but screw it, Starship Troopers is my sh*t.

Looks awesome!
