Get pumped for Halloween with the first five minutes of The Walking Dead

Oct. 29, 2010by: Paul Tassi

Alright, so I know it's a TV show, but it might be the most cinematic TV show in recent memory (other than Boardwalk Empire perhaps) so I think it's worth talking about here. In your hustle and bustle to get your last minute costume made for Halloween, and the subsequent three nights of drinking that may or may not accompany it, don't forget to watch The Walking Dead which premieres on AMC on Sunday night.

The graphic novel adaptation from Frank Darabont has debuted its first five minutes online, which you can watch below if you're curious. I'd tell you what happens, but I personally am avoiding watching as I'd rather see it all at once, but some of you may need convincing it's going to be worthwhile and this may be the ticket.

I'm just ecstatic it's not another vampire show.

Congrats to Frank Darabont and the whole team involved. This series has started on an awesome note. I hope they keep it up.

It's pretty exciting for those of us who've had the patience to wait and give this show the ratings it will most likely deserve.

So good

I watched the first episode last night, clocking in at 1 hour and 7 mins i can safely say that the first ep alone is better than any zombie movie i've ever watched(and almost as long).

I'm a big fan of the comics and was pleasently surprised how muc hthey actually add to the story for the show and how well it all works. The first episode cover the firs tissue and bits of the second but there is a ton of stuff there that was never in the comic and i t in no way feels out of place. If anyhting these extra bits are exactly what this

Mad Men over Breaking Bad. And this show will rock some serious ass if it stays true to the comic.

Wow without you pointing it out I could never see the similarities. Good thing you're on here to point out the obvious!

While i can't comment on the Stand Kirkman was shoping this story around for a couple years before 28 Days ever came out. And while yes it starts in a hospital (in the show theres more before hand) that is pretty much where the similarities end between this and 28 Days.

Actually, Day Of The Triffids (written in 1951) was the first to do it. Danny Boyle intentionally ripped it off to pay homage. -1.
