The Simpsons FXX Marathon

That is, until the next one. If you've got nothing to do for almost two weeks and are hungry for a (very) extended visit with America's favourite yellow family, you'll be happy to know that FXX is bringing back their "Every. Simpsons. Ever." marathon this fall. Including all 600 episodes (holy shit) and spanning thirteen days, FXX's marathon will kick off on November 24th at 12:00 PM ET before wrapping up on December 4th at 12:00 AM ET. That's a lot of d'oh's. The marathon will also air in chronological order which means that you can bow out by the time it reaches the tenth season, or whenever your cutoff for the "good" Simpsons episodes is.

FX Networks President and COO Chuck Saftler said:

The first ‘Every. Simpsons. Ever.’ Marathon was truly so special and landmark in its cultural relevance and impact. The unprecedented feat of reaching 600 episodes deserves something of that caliber to mark it and celebrate it. Doing this is an act of true fandom, honoring Jim Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, all the writers, artists, directors, people behind the scenes and the ridiculously talented voice actors who have brought this series to life and kept it at the pinnacle of artistic excellence these past 27+ seasons.

The 28th season of The Simpsons will debut on September 25th and feature the guest-voice of Amy Schumer as Monty Burns' mother. Titled "Monty Burns' Fleeing Circus", the episode will find Springfield being burned to the ground and the Simpsons begging Mr. Burns to fund its rebuilding. Burns agrees, but with one condition: he gets to put on a variety show at the Springfield Bowl.

Extra Tidbit: Which season of The Simpsons is your favourite? As for myself, I'd have to go for the fifth season which includes the very first Simpsons episode I ever watched: Treehouse of Horror IV.

I loved being able to tune in any time and catch some awesome Simpsons episodes the last time they did this, so I'm down for it again. This should be something they do yearly.

A lot of people give The Simpsons crap for still being on the air but it's still better than most of the cartoons on TV (including everything Seth MacFarlane has ever done.)

Would agree, but I have to say I think we are just about at the point in which South Park is surpassing it. Don't get me wrong I love the Simpsons to death and would argue that roughly about 50 percent of South Park episodes are absolute crap, however that fact that the show has arguably been getting better and is about to attempt its most ambitious season yet, right at the same point where the Simpsons really began to decline in quality makes it pretty hard to argue.

The classic Simpsons will always be some of the best TV ever made however.
