Come face to face with Ben Affleck on this poster for Argo

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

We got another sneak peek at ARGO during the season finale for BREAKING BAD. Verdict? I like the direction that Ben Affleck’s career has taken. GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN were both great films. AGRO will follow suit, especially with the cast involved: Affleck, Bryan Cranston (“You’re goddamn right.”), Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Tate Donovan, Clea DuVall, Michael Parks, Richard Kind and Victor Garber. He’s seemed to pull some people who have found more luck in television after their film careers have sort of fizzled out like Cochrane, DuVall, and Garber.

The second poster for the film puts Affleck’s face right in ours. However, I can’t help but think of my friend, Ryan every single time I see Affleck in this movie. It’s his doppelganger. I’m interested in seeing the film when it comes out on October 12th since I’m not as familiar on the situation it was based on. Check out the poster below.

Based on true events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA “exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.
