Godfather: Part 2 game

Of the first GODFATHER video game that was released by Electronic Arts in 2006, director Francis Ford Coppola said, “I had absolutely nothing to do with the game and I disapprove.” That didn’t stop fans from snatching up the game with worldwide sales of over four million units and it’s not stopping EA from developing a sequel based on THE GODFATHER PART II. Most of the actors from the film are providing likeness rights though you won’t see any Al Pacino or Robert De Niro (Pacino refused to participate and editor’s nixed De Niro’s early Vito Corleone storyline). Most of the dialogue will come from cut pieces from the film thought Robert Duvall will record new dialogue as Tom Hagen (who will likely coach the new member of the Corleone crime family that you will control). If you’re expecting a literal translation from screen to Xbox, you’ll be disappointed. EA says that the flashbacks weren’t working for the game so they’ve created their own story to weave in between “major touchpoints” from the film. You’re taking one of the greatest movies of all time and rewriting it? No wonder Coppola’s pissed. EA’s “Godfather II” is expected to hit stores next February.
