Godzilla will not be the only monster in the latest reboot from Gareth Edwards

Jan. 9, 2013by:

What could GODZILLA need other than GODZILLA? Well, more monsters of course, and maybe a cameo from Rick Moranis (Sorry, I miss him)...

The guys over at CHUD got access to a webinar for the promotional arm of Warner Bros. Within all the fluff, their source caught a couple of new things about the upcoming reboot from Gareth Edwards. Here's what they got:

- The film will feature more than one monster, confirming that two new monsters will also be wreaking havoc this in addition to the big green guy.

- Warner Bros. made it clear that their interpretation of the material follows the story of a solider and is way different than the Toho Godzilla films.

This is all confirmed news. So no need to start arguing on the validity. Godzilla will be battling it out with other monsters that we have yet to see.

I have no problem with any of this. I enjoy the old GODZILLA films because they make me laugh. However, with Edwards at the helm and Frank Darabont taking on the script, I can't see this as being a total crap.

Rick Moranis battled Audrey Two in "Little Shop of Horrors" but I too have no idea why his name was dropped.
As for Godzilla, I really hope this works out. I get that people need a protaganist to follow or "human element" but if you don't know the name Godzilla then you probably shouldn't be watching it. I know, why not save money and do it from big G's perspective, his eyes. Never actually seeing him, just his arms, atomic breath and his tail once in awhile. Perfect! SOLD!!!

Well, if they are trying to add "heart" to a Godzilla film in that respects, hope it works. I enjoyed Cloverfeild, but I enjoy seeing the monsters more. Here's hoping Pacific Rim isn't a let down.

Uhhh, NEW monsters? Sorry, if it isn't just Big G, as I feel it should, then the others should be Rodan, Mothra, or some other monsters we already know and love . . .

It is going to be Transformers if things keep going this way...

Not that I am not excited but come on, a story following a soldier? Really? Michael Bay called he wants his shitty character type back. But what about Rick Moranis? Where did that come from?
