Strike Back below!

I've always thought the Grammys are weird in how their eligibility process works. Basically, to compete for 2010, your stuff had to be out between October 2008 and August 2009. So that leaves that odd almost half-a-year gap, which explains why you have entries from the previous year mixed in with the current year. This always f*cks with my head's obsessive compulsive year end list-making inclinations SO MUCH.

But in any case, who cares? I'm just happy that Bruce Springsteen is up for Best Song after being snubbed at the Oscars for his heart-tugging "The Wrestler".

The 52nd Grammy Awards will air on January 31, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Check out the movie-related nods below.

Decent
Michael Giacchino grabs two noms-awesome. I'll have to root for that great Star Trek score he put together, it'd be nice to see it make it to an Oscar nom as well, but the chances are slim. Looks like it'd be unpopular to say so amongst this crowd, but I like Jai Ho, so I'll be rooting for that one as well.

Wait wait wait...
So Twilight gets an album nod as well as one for original song, yet Where the Wild Things Are only gets a nod for one song as opposed to the whole amazing album?

A bu-bu-bullshit.

True Blood / Cadillac Records

Up - Michael Giacchino (Giacchino is awesome)

The Wrestler - Springsteen (how was this not nominated for an Oscar)
