Jesus, in today's wacky rumor, atheists the world over are in receipt of pretty overwhelming evidence in support of their cause, as GREASE might just be being remade. I guess there's only a matter of time before CITIZEN KANE and THE GODFATHER get remade, since it's looking more and more like not a god damn thing in this industry is untouchable. I bet there's already some screenwriter in Hollywood hard at work on his remake of TRANSFORMERS as we speak. The news comes via an apparent interview with Michelle Pfeiffer, in which she seems to have intimated her desire to play the high-school principal; "It's a great idea and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy, she would be good... I would love to play the school principal. She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked."
So, anyone think this is a good idea? To be completely objective, I have to admit that Jessica Simpson would probably not be the worst thing to happen to a GREASE remake. Although I'd doubt she'd be interested in it, since she's busy consolidating a nice little career arc based on participation in absolutely horrific original
movies. And if she wants to achieve something there then she's going to have to dedicate herself.
||Pfeiffer went on to say that she can't bare to watch herself in films; "I don't sit at home and watch my movies. I cannot bear it when I'm channel surfing and there I am, suddenly popping up." It's quite incredible how many smoking hot people don't like to see themselves all made-up. I'm pretty sure that if I was as hot as Pfeiffer I'd be at least a little psyched and possibly aroused when I saw myself.
