Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin and Billy Crudup are on Thin Ice in this new trailer

Today a new poster and trailer for THIN ICE was released. Starring Greg Kinnear as an insurance agent who's looking to get the hell out of Wisconsin and sees his chance in a priceless violin owned by a farmer played by Alan Arkin. He hires a locksmith (played by a shifty Billy Crudup) to help him steal it and things of course spiral out of control, as you'll see in the trailer below.

It's hard not to see a film set in the winter in the midwest about a plan that goes wrong and not think of a certain Coen Bros film, but the talent is definitely there.

THIN ICE has a limited theatrical run on February 17th.

I'm a sucker for this sub-genre. You could do a mini-festival of these: Fargo, A Simple Plan, The Ice Harvest and now Thin Ice. Affliction kinda fits the bill but might be too serious to count. Am I missing any snow bound capers?

This went around festivals (I saw it at Sundance last year) as "The Convincer". GREAT name change. decent flick.

If it's set in Kenosha, they better have a clip of Dr. Destruction's Crimson Theatre playing in the background somewhere.
