It was fun reporting on the James Gunn-scripted, Greg McLean-directed film THE BELKO EXPERIMENT (read our review HERE) as it was being assembled and heading toward production last year, because the casting announcements were made through Gunn's Facebook page and there are a lot of actors in this film. By the time Gunn was finished, we had reported that John Gallagher Jr., Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, Michael Rooker, Melonie Diaz, John C. McGinley, Sean Gunn, Owain Yeoman, David Dastmalchian, Gail Bean, Valentine Miele, Steve Agee, Josh Brener, David Del Rio, Stephen Blackehart, Rusty Schwimmer, James Earl, Brent Sexton, Mikaela Hoover, Joe Fria, Benjamin Byron Davis, Abraham Benrubi, and Cindy Better had all joined the cast. That certainly kept us busy for a while.

What sort of story requires a cast that large? One that tells what happens when an

American company in South America is mysteriously sealed off at the beginning of a workday, its employees ordered to kill each other or be killed themselves. This starts an escalation of violence, where we discover the true nature of each and every Belko employee.

Filmed in Bogota, Colombia, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT recently had its screening debut as part of the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness program. On the heels of that screening, Orion and BH Tilt have revealed that they are partnering to distribute the film, which they have scheduled for a March 17, 2017 theatrical release.

THE BELKO EXPERIMENT sounds really interesting to me, and thanks to the aforementioned casting announcements I have already written about it on several occasions, so I am very much looking forward to seeing how it all turned out.
