Guardians of the Galaxy’s awesome soundtrack to be released on cassette tape

Along with crossing the $700 million mark in global box office, James Gunn's mega-hit GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY continues to find awesome ways to interest fans. The kick-ass soundtrack featuring a dozen classic tunes has been a hit on the music charts and will now be re-released in the most fitting way possible.

Billboard reports that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: AWESOME MIX VOL. 1 soundtrack will be issued on cassette November 17th until December 31st. The limited edition cassette will be designed to look like an actual mixtape complete with a handwritten track-listing and labels. There will also be a digital edition of the soundtrack bundled with the cassette which will only be available at independent retailers associated with Record Store Day.

This marks the first cassette released by Disney/Hollywood Records in over a decade. There is no word on a price-point for the tape or how many copies are being made, but it definitely will make a cool gift for the Marvel fan in your life. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will also hit Blu-ray/DVD shortly after on December 9th.
