Guillermo del Toro chosen for the first in the Director's Series of posters from Mondo

When we get a week of shitty posters, it's nice to see posters like these.

Alamo Drafthouse and Mondo are bringing us the first ever "directors series" from Guillermo del Toro. Mondo worked with the director to create some amazing poster art inspired by BLADE 2, HELLBOY, THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, CRONOS, and PAN'S LABRYRINTH.

Del Toro said this on the collaboration, "it is a rare privilege to be included in this mind-blowing poster series. These images enshrine and preserve the energy of the films they depict in a way that no square marketing could!!! More power to them!!!" We have received two of the posters: HELLBOY and BLADE 2. Both are very cool. I really dig the one for HELLBOY. Mondo Creative Director, Justin Ishmael praised the director, “Whether producing or directing, the Alamo Drafthouse & Mondo look forward to each Guillermo del Toro film as the name carries that rare seal of quality. We are deeply honored to have him be a part of our first Director’s Series."

The BLADE 2 print will be on sale tomorrow. You'll have to follow @MondoNews on Twitter to find out the date for when the HELLBOY poster goes on sale.

Extra Tidbit: Before I re-sized the HELLBOY poster, I thought Abe Sapien was holding a cookie.
