Hanks saw TS3 first

04.23.2009

Instead of sending Tom Hanks the script for TOY STORY 3 to make sure he was down with voicing Woody again, they went a different way:

"They did an interesting thing on this one. They did not send us a script. They showed us a complete story reel of the entire movie, with storyboards moving from one to the next, and the people up at Pixar recorded some voices with some music and sound effects. Tim Allen and John Ratzenberger and I went in a movie theatre, watched the reel and said, 'This is great, let's get to work!'"

Hanks is currently finishing up his work on the movie. You can check the full interview out HERE. Although, it's pretty important to note that this approach cannot be applied to all circumstances. For example, instead of seducing a girl in a bar, you probably couldn't show her a video of you dry-humping your pillow, and then ask her if she wanted to get involved. I'm not a chick and I don't have any empirical evidence but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work at all.

I'm looking forward to Toy Story 3, Pixar hasn't let me down yet. I know this movie was in limbo when Disney & Pixar were having their spat, but I glad they got it together.

This is so damn cool, and if Pixar can pull it off, I'll be more than impressed. I really hope they can find some creative solution to not being able to use Lenny, Wheezy, or Slinky Dog's voices anymore.

Pixar = King

Man, just thinking about Toy Story 1 and 2 bring back so many childhood memories. I would PROUDLY pay for those 3-D release tickets (if I didn't get in free admission).

I kinda doubt that'll work with a girl. I'd rather be put down quick than try and get punched in the face or with a restraining order.

Sounds great. Hell, I'm looking forwardto the TS 1+2 Re-release inthe fall.

Hey, there's no harm in trying it. Or maybe there is.

That seems like a cool idea to me. I mean, i guess it really probably wouldn't work in a bar for hooking up with a girl... damnit. But, it seems to me like it would work pretty well with all these animated movies now. Looking forward to this! I have always liked the Story of Toys.

I always loved Toy Story, i remember it being like nothing else I ever saw when I was a kid. But now, I've always loved just how much Tom Hanks and Tim Allen care about their characters, and the pride they take in them. I dunno, it just seems cool when u hear them talk in interviews about their characters.

Should be a good one!
