Harrelson is method

Apr. 13, 2009by:

In case you haven't been following it, Woody Harrelson recently assaulted a photographer at La Guardia airport, pushing him in the face and damaging his camera. A complaint has been filed, and Harrelson has been forced to explain his actions. And in this current climate of celebrities being held largely unaccountable for their actions, refreshingly, Harrelson had a simple, plausible, and certainly understandable explanation for doing what he did:

"I wrapped a movie called 'Zombieland,' in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character... With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie,"

I understand why a celebrity gets pissed with the paparazzi and especially when his daughter was there, but in terms of explanation... I'm one of the dumbest people I know but even to me this sounds stupid. The only way this would even be (still unbelievable, but) passable, was that in ZOMBIELAND, Harrelson's character deals with the zombies by pushing them in the face and then smashing their cameras? Does that really happen? Why do they have cameras? Are the zombie tourists? Did they see Madison Square Garden? Oh, yeah, about that, Amber Heard stars in ZOMBIELAND.
Extra Tidbit: This has nothing to do with anything, but did anyone see the Britain's Got Talent re-runs over Easter Weekend? THIS kid is just incredible.

GOOD FOR HIM

I'm gonna bet that the zombie excuse was a Woody way of brushing off the whole thing. I haven't heard his manager releasing a statement or anything- they're just gonna let this fly? AWESOME!!

And good for him! I think you absolutely should have the right to break a camera that takes your picture if unsolicited... and break the douche-bag's nose who took it if you want to. It's time to outlaw paparazzi- their whole industry is f**king scummy.

about extra tidbit

This kid has definitely got the right stuff. With a little bit more maturing in the confidence department.

He'll land a recording deal without a doubt.

I just hope he can maintain that mezzo thru puberty.

Harrelson may be a little crazy for that one, but i think it might just be the best excuse to drop a paparazzi that i have ever heard.

Extra Tidbit - Wow, that kid does have a damn good voice. But seriously, why did they have to edit in that other music into the video?

The zombies must get into a fight with rampaging robot Itchy and Scratchy's and throughout the course of the battle somehow find out that the only way to subdue them is by camera.

extra tidbit

ha I did happen to see the re-runs actually, never watched it first time round, when he sang it was quite shocking.

As for the Woody story, its obvious hes joking slightly, great excuse though.

Rock Hard Woody

I'm with Harrelson on this one.

And yes, that lad's got talent, but I got distracted... Amanda Holden is fit as fook!

TWO BOTH THE COMMENTS BELOW

sbunn- I totally agree but according to law celebrities have to put up with more bullshit than normal people because of their fame. I forget what the actual law is but either way I support Harrelson. And Malaguy while I support your idea of protecting your own to insult Thoo by saying get a grip is ridiculous. What's more ridiculous is you want to compare acting to something my family members have experience in Iraq and other combat zones to acting. You need to get a grip and be mature enough

You need to get a grip and be mature enough to understand there is a huge difference and it doesn't even compare. Woody came up with a funny and lame excuse cause he got pissed like anyone else would.

c'mon thoo

Be a little reasonable. It sounds entirely plausible to me. Have you heard of this phenomenon called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder? War vets snapping when someone tries to wake them up, thinking they're back in war. Granted, we're talking about a movie star in an airport, but it's also a similar regression/flashback to a more intense period of time, when they were forced to protect themselves. You obviously don't have children, or you would understand his desire to protect his daughter.

I think most of us would push someone out of the way if they stuck a camera in our face.
