Harry Potter grabs a Hammer: Daniel Radcliffe meets The Woman in Black

Daniel Radcliffe seems like he plans to mix it up in his post-Hogwarts career. Not only is he doing an update of the classic ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, but he's dipping into some old-school horror.

The HARRY POTTER star has joined THE WOMAN IN BLACK, from the recently revived Hammer Films. The adaptation of Susan Hill’s bestseller will come from director James Watkins (EDEN LAKE), with a script from Jane Goldman (KICK-ASS) that Radcliffe says is "both tender and terrifying in equal measure."

The story follows young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), "who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of the UK and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in an old and isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover its tragic secrets, and his unease grows when he discovers that the local village is held hostage by the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance."

The movie starts production in the Fall. Hammer also has LET ME IN (the US remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN) coming up -- we should hear more about that from Comic Con.

Extra Tidbit: Who else is primed to survive the POTTER franchise with a satisfying career? And who will make their living signing photos at conventions?
