Hayley Atwell confirms Peggy Carter is in Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel's multi-platform synergy between feature films and the small screen seems to be setting them apart from DC who will not mix films and television. With AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. already crossing over with THOR: THE DARK WORLD and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, there is no doubt ABC and Marvel will hook up to cross-promote the instant blockbuster AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
Hayley Atwell is already confirmed to headline her own AGENT CARTER series during mid-season in January 2015 which means it would be an ideal cross-over with AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Atwell even confirmed she will appear in the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly:
"We went out drinking one night and he was like, 'You know, it would be great to write something for you,'" she says. "And I was like , 'Yes, Joss, it would! It would be amazing!'"
Reports have Atwell and Chris Evans shooting a scene in a dance hall with extras performing the Lindy hop which sounds like it would be a flashback scene or a dream sequence. Comic Book Movie says that Paul Bettany was in the scene as well but did not indicate if he was in character as The Vision. Whether this scene makes the cut or not will remain to be seen, but it would certainly be cool to see Hayley Atwell make her third Marvel feature appearance after knocking it out of the park as an aged Peggy in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Check out her digitally-enhanced transformation in the image below.
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
