After appearing in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, ANT-MAN, as well as a Marvel One-Shot, several guest appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and her own series, Hayley Atwell isn't ready to say goodbye to Peggy Carter. While speaking with IGN at the Television Critics Association press-tour, Hayley Atwell stated that not only would she love to appear in more Marvel movies, she's also hoping that there's an Agent Carter movie in her future.

I'd love to see [Peggy] more in films. I'd love to see her in her own film. And if we can keep evolving it so that she does new things so that I can surprise myself and she can keep surprising me then I'd love to do it. And I feel very privileged to be part of something that people really love and that entertains them. But also, you're going to these conventions and meeting people who've named their son Carter and people who have a tattoo of "I Know My Value," the tagline. She's a force of good and there are a lot of social media sites where girls and guys have come together and become good friends on an international scale because of their belief in some of the values that Peggy talks about. And that provides them with a different connection that a family situation or school situation that they don't really feel they have a place in. That's really cool to me. So I'm very happy to be a part of that world and keep that going.

There are still plenty of decades worth of adventures to play with in Peggy Carter's world, particularly as Agent Carter was cancelled after only two seasons. Hayley Atwell said that although everyone involved in the series loved making it, its cancellation wound up being a "network political thing" and that she "wasn't a part of the conversation." I never got into the series myself, but as I understand it, Agent Carter ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, so any potential movie could also offer up a bit of resolution to fans. Hayley Atwell's portrayal of Peggy Carter has been a definite highlight of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and her long association with a variety of Marvel heroes could certainly provide the fodder for a fun movie.

Hayley Atwell will next be seen in Howards End, a BBC mini-series based on the E. M. Forster novel. Also starring Julia Ormond, Tracey Ullman, and Matthew Macfadyen, Howards End tells the story of two independent and unconventional sisters and the men in their lives seeking love and meaning as they navigate an ever-changing world. The Starz series is expected to premiere in 2018.
